The Marts & Crafts Gazette
Terms of Service
Effective October 3, 2026, until October 24, 2026. From then, the new Terms apply.
In plain words: Marts & Crafts helps makers find fairs, plan a season, and be found. You keep what you make and post. We don’t sell your work, take a cut, or handle your sales. Be honest, be decent to other makers, and don’t scrape the site. Membership and credits are paid features you can stop any time.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Marts & Crafts (“we”, “us”) runs the app and website at martsandcrafts.app (the “Service”). These Terms are an agreement between you and Marts & Crafts. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and is part of these Terms.
2. Your account
You need to be at least 18 to hold an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; what happens under your account is your responsibility. Give us accurate information and keep it current. One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise.
3. What the Service is, and is not
The Service finds craft fairs, markets and festivals, helps you plan and record your season, and gives you a public page, a contact card and a QR code so people can find you. It is not a marketplace: we do not sell your pieces, process payments between you and buyers, take commission, or stand between you and anyone who buys from you. Any sale you make happens outside the Service, on your own terms.
Event information is gathered from organizers’ public pages, from makers who confirm details, and from what you add yourself. We work to keep it accurate and we show you where each fact came from, but organizers change dates, places and fees. Check with the organizer before you commit money or travel. Nothing on the Service is a guarantee that an event will run, that a fee is correct, or that you will sell anything.
4. What you post
Your pieces, photos, words, links, descriptions and comments stay yours. So that the Service can work, you give us a license to store, show and share them within the Service and on your public page, and to make copies needed to run it (such as resized images or a contact card). The license ends when you remove the content or close your account, except for copies that other people have already saved or that we keep for legal reasons.
Only post what you have the right to post. Don’t upload other people’s photos or work as your own, and don’t post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone’s rights. We may remove content that breaks these rules and, for repeat or serious cases, close the account.
5. Your public page, card and QR code
When you make your page public, the name, shop name, photo, town, pieces, links and anything else you choose to show become visible to anyone with the link, including people who scan your QR code. Your phone number and email are shared only if you switch them on in your card settings. The app tells you exactly what a scan shares, and you can change it any time.
6. Community rules
Comments, likes, follows, messages and attendance are for makers and the people who love their work. Be kind. No spam, no advertising other services, no harassment, no impersonating another maker or an organizer, and no false reports about an event. Confirm only event facts you have actually checked.
You can block another maker; neither of you can then follow, like or comment on the other’s pieces or posts, and you no longer see their comments. Photos and posts are checked automatically for content that breaks these rules, and some may be held for a person to look at. We may remove content, and suspend or ban an account, for breaking these rules.
Children’s safety comes first. Accounts are for adults. There are no private messages between members: posts and comments are public, and anyone can report them. Never post a child’s name, school or where they live, and post photos of children only with a parent’s permission. Anything that sexualizes a child, or tries to get a child to share details, send pictures or meet up, is removed, the account is closed, and we report it to the authorities.
7. Membership, credits and payments
The Free Club costs nothing. The Crafters Club and the Suppliers Club are paid plans, monthly or yearly, and each month of a plan comes with 1,800 credits. Credits pay for extras such as the AI photo background, boosting your shop, a spotlight on a piece, the front spot, extra photo slots and calls with Marty past the included minutes; you get them with a plan, as rewards, or by buying a credit pack. Prices are shown in the app before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.
- Membership renews automatically each period until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account; you keep membership until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Except where the law requires it, membership fees are not refunded for partial periods.
- Credits are a way to pay for features inside the Service. They have no cash value, can’t be transferred, and aren’t refundable once spent. Credits you get with a plan or buy in a pack don’t expire while your account is open; a credit pack none of whose credits you’ve spent can be refunded within 14 days (see Refunds below).
- Referral credits are earned only by paying members: they land 30 days after someone you referred makes their first plan payment, if that payment has not been refunded or charged back by then and you had an active plan both when they signed up and when they paid, and can be used only while you have an active plan. Unspent referral credits lapse if you go more than one month without an active plan; if you rejoin within a month, you keep them. They are reversed if that payment is refunded or charged back, and we may withhold or reverse referral credits earned through fake accounts or abuse.
- Free months for referrals. When people who joined through your link pay us for plans or credit packs during their first 12 months, 20% of what they pay counts toward a free month of your plan (for free members, a month of the Crafters Club), once each payment is 30 days old and has not been refunded or charged back. A free month has no cash value and can’t be transferred. On a monthly card plan it takes the place of your next monthly payment; on a yearly plan it is kept until it can be used. Spending that is later refunded or charged back stops counting, and we may withhold free months earned through fake accounts or abuse.
- Refunds. Plans are not refundable, except where the law requires it. A credit pack is refundable within 14 days of purchase if none of its credits have been spent; write to us. A refund or a chargeback removes the credits the payment gave and holds the account’s credits until we’ve reviewed it.
- Medals, points, ranks and loyalty rewards are our thanks for taking part. They have no cash value, can’t be transferred, and we may change how they are earned.
We may change prices for future periods with at least 30 days’ notice in the app or by email.
8. AI features
Some tools use artificial intelligence: reading a flyer, an event write-up or a sales sheet, painting a new background behind a photo of your piece, the help chat, calls with Marty, suggesting details, and checking photos and posts for safety. The results are suggestions. Always check them before you rely on them, especially dates, places, fees and amounts. What you send to these tools goes to the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy, to answer that request; they don’t use it to train their models.
An AI background can change small details. Before you use an edited photo, make sure it still shows your piece honestly: its shape, colours and size as a buyer will receive it. The free photo tools (auto fix, clean background, crop and adjust) run on your own device. The help chat is free for 100 questions a month for members and 10 for everyone else; after that each question uses 1 credit.
Calls with Marty, the voice helper, are with an AI voice, not a person. The Crafters Club includes 10 minutes of calls a month and the Suppliers Club 30; after those, and for everyone else, each minute or part of one uses 30 credits. A call goes on until you end it or your minutes and credits run out, and a minute that has started is used even if you hang up before it ends.
9. Don’t do this
- Copy, scrape or harvest the Service or other makers’ content by any automated means.
- Try to get around the membership, credit or referral rules.
- Interfere with the Service, probe it for weaknesses, or overload it.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited messages or to build lists of makers.
- Use another person’s account, or let someone use yours.
10. Ending things
You can close your account any time from My account, with your password. Closing is permanent: your public page comes down, your content is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes, a plan ends straight away, and any credits, referral rewards and free months you have left end. An account that is paused or banned can’t be closed from the app; write to us. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, with notice where reasonable. Fees already paid are not refunded except as set out in section 7.
11. Our promises, and their limits
We work hard to keep the Service running and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that every event listing is correct. To the fullest extent the law allows, Marts & Crafts is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost sales, travel costs, booth fees or other money spent in reliance on information in the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service grows. For changes that matter we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
13. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If we have a disagreement, please contact us first; most things can be sorted out with a conversation. Anything that can’t be goes to the state or federal courts in Pennsylvania.
